Remodelling a live operational police headquarters
West Herts Police HQ sees Tilley and Barrett working within a live operational police headquarters, decommissioning, and demolishing redundant building stock to clear the way for a new headquarters.
Although seemingly a straightforward demolition, there was still a huge opportunity to realise vast site won material recycling for reuse onsite as we continue to expand on our strategic suppliers for multiple layers of the building structures, fabrics, and M&E, whilst maximising recycling where we can’t.
The team, led by project manager Peter Edgerton, and Toureen’s sustainability team did a great job, particularly given the location of an operational police headquarters, with no complaints received and the site will soon see a seamless transition to construction.
